Digital Humanities Individual analysis
I was in a group with Ronan, Adam and Shane Oneill and we were called the ramblers.
What our project included was for us to dive into the world of technology in different sports and figure out how each sport is being affected by new and upcoming technology.
My focus was on technology in Golf.
I play golf myself and I knew some bits of the technology which were already in the sport but as I did more research I figured out more uses and other ways how golf can be made more affected by the use of technology.
From my presentation you would have seen the different uses of technology I mentioned but what was most astonishing during my research is the detail in which the ‘’Trackman’’ goes into a golfer’s swing with the use of technology in the space of a few seconds. The trackman is able to test all aspects of a golfer’s game, such as their club head speed / spin rate / distance carried.
From this we decided to create a Kahoot quiz prior to people paying close attention to our presentation along with their own knowledge of technology in sport.
In this we all came up with questions which is related to technology in sport and from my research I gained lots of information regarding this topic that I haven’t already known and which I think is very fun and easy topic for others to learn about also, as it is very interesting in how greatly technology actually is in sport in the modern world.
My contribution to this was creating questions for technology in golf and implementing them into what was presented to the other students. I had great fun and gained lots of extra information on our topic researched.
